About the Women in Hospitality Initiative
The Women’s Hospitality Initiative (WHI) was founded in Las Vegas in 2019 by hospitality entrepreneurs and executives committed to addressing the gender disparity within the industry and creating stronger pathways for women in leadership. Through education, advocacy, training, and the development of essential business and management skills, WHI works to empower women to reach their full leadership potential while building a better hospitality culture for everyone. Its educational programs have reached universities across the country, including UNLV, Florida International University, San Diego State University, and the Culinary Institute of America, with WHI expanding its work to Nevada ProStart students in 2022. WHI welcomes both women and men who share its commitment to supporting women and strengthening the future of the hospitality industry.
